Kultuur Kaffee
Kultuur Kaffee is the flagship of campus culture situated in Etterbeek. As well as a university cafe, it is equally a cultural hub. Known for a variety of art exhibitions, creative workshops, theatrical performances, and concerts ranging from rock to reggae it is always interesting to go have a look. There are free Jazz concerts every first Wednesday of the month and on certain Thursdays open mic sessions are organised. Equally, if you are a budding musician or singer it is always worth a try asking them for a slot.
There is a 3 month magazine printed out keeping you up to date on the latest events.Flipping through it, one soon comes to the realisation that this is the way to get to know a whole new range of performers and artists!

Additionally, as a student you will get a regular (weekly based) newsletter sent to your student webmail address informing you of upcoming events, free lectures, film screenings, seminars and much more! It is always worth a look as these films and lectures tend to be less mainstream so not always highly advertised elsewhere except for in their respective domains and courses.
For instance this year the VUB hosted a film projection and post debate attended by several well-known experts and figures for the Green Up Film Festival
The documentary was titled: Surviving Progress
For more information on this past event have a look HERE. Otherwise as a student keep a look out for that newsletter!
