Each campus has allocated parking spaces. If you have your own private car you can register your number plate using your student NetID. This can be done online (although the site is only provided in dutch - the requirements are as stated above) LINK: https://my.vub.ac.be/nummerplaat/

Parking is open to all students where one can find a free spot. Almost every building is equipped with underground parking facilities. The opening/closing times of individual garages can be found by the entry doors. Following the closing hours of a garage it is still possible to get out, using a special exit button located next to the door.
